For the technical support of information entry and information exchange, two different approaches exist. This is on the one hand a completely digital environment, having new tools and new working procedures. On the other hand, so-called 'digital paper' is used, on which any curve is immediately digitized by the interaction device and then forwarded to a computer system.
No transition exists between these two different approaches and thus the usage of digital paper prohibits the interaction on digital surfaces and vice versa.
Since both approaches have their benefits, a combination of both technologies makes sense.
The main focus of the project is the development of a technical environment, which allows the integration of paper-based working methods into a digital environment. In particular, the integration of 'analog' media and analog working procedures are still a problem, which hinders net-based collaboration.
An application scenario will be realized which will be used to test and to verify the efficiency of such a new environment. In addition, the setup will also be used for students' education.
